Privacy Policy

Last updated August 5, 2026. Pickup Finder collects as little as it can get away with. Here is exactly what that means.

1. Information we collect

Your phone number. This is how accounts work — it is your login. We store it so we can send you a sign-in code and recognize you when you come back.

Your profile. A display name is required. You may optionally add a short bio, your club, your age, your ability level, your preferred position, and a photo. Everything except the display name is optional, and you can leave it blank or change it at any time.

Games and RSVPs. When you create a game we store what you entered: title, location name, map coordinates, start and end time, format, player cap, skill level, notes, and whether it is public, request-only, or private. When you RSVP we store which game and your status — going, waitlisted, or withdrawn.

We do not collect your email address, your contacts, your payment information, or your precise location history.

2. Location

If you choose to sort the feed by distance, your browser asks your permission to share your location. If you allow it, that position is used in your browser to calculate how far away each game is, and then discarded when you leave the page.

Your location is never sent to our servers and never stored. You can decline the permission and the rest of the app works normally. Separately, the map coordinates of a game you create are stored — those describe the field, not you.

3. How we use your information

To sign you in, to show your name and RSVP status on the rosters of games you join, to display accurate headcounts and waitlists, to show games on a map, and to sort games by distance when you ask.

We do not use your information for advertising, we do not build profiles about you, and we do not run any analytics or tracking software on this site.

4. What other people can see

Your display name and profile details are visible to other users, including on the roster of any game you join. If you RSVP to a public game, the fact that you are going is visible to anyone who can see that game. Don’t put anything in your bio you wouldn’t want another player to read.

Your phone number is never shown to other users.

5. Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. We share it only with the service providers that make the app run:

Supabase hosts our database and handles authentication. Twilio delivers your sign-in codes by SMS. Mapbox provides maps and address search, and receives map and search requests from your browser. Vercel hosts the site. Each has its own privacy policy governing what it does with that data.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or where necessary to protect someone’s safety or our legal rights.

6. Text messages

Your phone number is used to send one-time sign-in codes. These are transactional messages only — we do not send marketing texts and we do not share your number with anyone for their own marketing. Message and data rates may apply, and frequency depends on how often you sign in. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help.

7. Cookies

We use cookies for one purpose: keeping you signed in. These are set by Supabase’s authentication system and are required for the app to work. There are no advertising cookies, no third-party trackers, and no analytics pixels on this site.

8. Keeping and deleting your information

We keep your account information for as long as your account exists. To delete your account, email teodierig@gmail.com from a request tied to your account, and we will delete your profile and your RSVP history.

Games you created may remain visible to people who attended them, with your name removed. Deleting your account cannot un-send a sign-in code that was already delivered.

9. Your rights

You can view and edit your profile at any time from your profile page. You can request a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing teodierig@gmail.com. Depending on where you live you may have additional rights under laws such as the CCPA or GDPR; we honor these requests regardless of where you are.

10. Children

Pickup Finder is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, email teodierig@gmail.comand we will delete it. Users under 18 need a parent or guardian’s consent, as described in our Terms of Service.

11. Security

We use the access controls and encryption provided by our hosting and database providers, and the database enforces row-level rules so users can only modify their own data. That said, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we can’t guarantee absolute security. Pickup Finder is a personal project, not a bank.

12. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the “last updated” date at the top of this page. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
